NIGO x Virgil Abloh LV² Collaboration
Virgil Abloh and NIGO have finally debuted their Louis Vuitton collaboration with a selection of Pre-Autumn 2020 menswear pieces.
Instituted by an array of denim, tailoring and graphic designs, the highly anticipated pieces take strong cues from NIGO’s legacy, renewed for today’s Louis Vuitton man. NIGO proposed the collection’s name, “LV²,” to commemorate the dual design approach enacted by the creatives.
This is Louis Vuiton’s most extensive exploration with one of Japan’s streetwear legends. Together have created a surprisingly part formal range with tailored suiting encompassing blazers to square-patterned suits, monogrammed penny loafers and boots. Taking cues from NIGO’s adoration of Savile Row suiting, the looks are trim, refined and sophisticated. The selection is rounded by contemporary accessories including fringed scarves, chunky sunglasses, skinny ties and Louis Vuitton-branded caps. The LV logo which takes a fresh turn remixed in NIGO style denim hats, chore coats and pattern shirts which are rich with patchwork-inspired stitching. This collection is an owe to vintage workwear which NIGO collects and Louis Vuitton’s signature Damier pattern.
Expect NIGO and Abloh’s collaborative LV² range to launch this summer, in line with Pre-Fall 2020 timing.
